I'm Heidi
I'm a qualified primary school teacher with over 12 years of experience teaching across the primary age range. I tutor a range of subjects face-to-face and online, to children aged 5-11. I'm passionate about providing an engaging, personalised learning experience that supports children to learn at their own pace, reach their full potential and nurture a love of learning.
My ultimate goal is to ensure learning is fun and exciting, aiming to ensure that children look forward to their sessions each week by tailoring them to their individual interests and needs. I use a variety of resources, hands-on activities and learning games to keep children engaged and enthusiastic. Based on my classroom experience, I have learned that taking the time for building relationships and getting to know children is key to building trust and setting the stage for meaningful learning.
Making sure every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive is very important to me. During my experience, I have worked with a number of children with additional learning needs, as well as social, emotional and mental health difficulties. I use a range of resources and scaffolding to make tuition as inclusive and tailored as possible to each child's needs. I strongly believe that with the appropriate support, all children can achieve, and I am committed to making this a reality.
I'm enthusiastic about supporting children to develop a positive growth mindset by encouraging them to take pride in their work, tackle new challenges and most importantly, believe in themselves and their ability to achieve.
